Pictures of my BK Dubow 1755

I thought I’d share some pictures of my BK Dubow 1755. I just love this jacket. It’s now about two years old and ages nicely - not sure which of my two BKs I like better. As a matter of fact my Eastman Star does not get any wear time anymore although I also like it.

Earl, thanks for posting photos of your Dubow. The grainy/smooth areas of the hides look awesome. It's also cool to see pics of BK jackets.

Grant, thank you! I really like them. To be honest, I think these two jackets are my all time favorites. I own or owned several others and I only regret to have sold my Aero AN 6552. If I still had that one, I might have three favorites. The others just went by. I have a LW A-2, The Few AN-J 3a and RMNZ G1 that just spent their time being well stored in my basement. An Aero M422 and LW G-1 just hat a very short episode in my house due to having chosen the wrong size. The Dubow is really an easy to wear jacket.

What I really would like to see in real is Aero´s AN-J 3, Real Mccoy´s AN-J 3a and Security Aviation Togs A-2 - these might challenge me but most other jackets probably won't. Maybe...

Two years and the lining is still intact?! What, are you sleeping in it?
That's a lot of jackets you've tried!

Yep, lining is intact. Why shouldn’t it be? I am not abusing the jacket, just wearing it.
I have never slept in any of my leather jackets. :D

I know that some fellas here had problems with BKs, but I must say I like my Dubow 1755. In fact it is my go-to A-2 these days.

Your BK 1755 looks super. I have a Good Wear Dubow 1755 and it's my favorite A2 as well. The combination of the purple knits and the seal color really looks great. I totally agree, If I had to choose one A2 it would be this one.

I also like the broader epaulets - the ones on my Star just don't look right, even if they may be accurate.

Its just a great jacket - no matter who's the manufacturer.

Nice jacket Earl, you may be persuading me in the way of Dubow.

What BK hide is it?

My ANJ-3 was their Victory Horse, which unfortunately is no longer available. The only experience I've had with their Liberty Horse is my wife's Duke. I really dig the way it shows a tremendous amount of character very soon in the wearing. The only issue, and its a minor one, is her jacket is quite squeaky when it rubs together as you move, e.g. if you cross you arms the squeak is quite noticeable. My ANJ-3 did this for a little while until it was well and truly worn in, is yours the same? When you compare the 'squeakiness' of other makers, Its there with my ELC Werber but ever so faint so barely noticeable, and not at all with Diamond Dave's Aero. Aside from the tanning process I'm thinking it maybe because of the thickness of the hide, or it could just be the coating?

Maybe I'll have to order a BK Dubow to find out ;)

Matt, no squeaking whatsoever on the Dubow! The goat of the AN-J 3 is squeaking a little but that may be due to the coating (don't think it is the thickness or the tanning process). But it is not too much and it is also not every time I move- just keeps you aware that you are wearing a leather jacket.

Good to know. My wife's Duke in liberty was an early example so maybe they were still perfecting the hide. Wear your Dubow in Good health my friend

What made the BK A-2 better than the LW?

My BK Dubow is a really 'loud' jacket, literally, got laughed by my partner all the time being a walking leather sofa. Mine is one of the first few Dubow that BK made during their startup. I am not even sure where their hide was using at that time (2013?).

Miles, quite easy: the LW is too heavy for me and the fit is not as nice for me as the BK as I had chosen the wrong size and did not bother to return it as I thought I might get used to it. Nevertheless the LW is a nice jacket and very bullet proof. Also the BK shows signs of wear a lot nicer than the LW. But qualitywise they are equal - it’s probably a matter of personal taste.

I have one of their early Werbers using their russet antique horse. It was Loud but after wearing it a lot in Summer heat (yep some of us go to great lengths to break in a jacket) it broke and draped really nice and is as quite as a mouse. They do seem to take a while to break in

Unfortunately this hide is n longer available either
