Nice collection of Bee's clobber and looks kosher. The price is getting up there but then it could be argued that its owner was one of the most famous in Fighter Command during WWII. If it had his gongs as well it would be an absolute fortune.

Sadly this is not the same Irvin as he wore in the BoB and he either acquired it late War or post-War.

It was most probably issued when he was with the 2TAF Andrew. From what I have discovered 2TAF fighter squadrons based on the Continent were issued Irvins for the winter of 44/45 not for flying duties but due to the excessively cold conditions on the ground and particularly at the rudimentary advanced fields. Many fighter pilots from early in the war had seemed to have lost, mislaid, sold, given away the Irvins they were issued due to the lack of not using them operationally so it doesn't surprise me that Bee would have received a multi-panel later.

It is destined to remain on Ebay for years unless the price is reduced quite dramatically. There is one over-priced CC Irvin which has been on Ebay for over two years.
