That's a very, very good price DD. You'll sell a few of these. I still reckon you should put an ad on one of the Japanese sites and see what happens with that one ;)

Fair point Smithy. Just wish I had patterns down to sz 34. Lol!

So, these jackets must size differently due to the cut/materials. etc? Seems way big so maybe you can offer some sizing tips DD?

Butte,

Sure. By the time that these patterns were made, standardized patterns had gotten a bit larger. This was due to a need to be able to layer under these garments. The jackets have a large arm scye with a large sleeve top, but with a very tapered sleeve end.

Similarly the chest is over-sized slightly, and a large athletic “drop” to the waist.

I find that these are best used today in a “down a size” method. Where JC normally wears a sz 46 in an A-2, and I a sz 48 we wear a 44 & 46 respectively.

As stated previously, we have also added 3” to the body of these jackets so that they can easily be worn today.

Thanks for the question

Just some quick wearing pics... I know the numbers have thrown a few of you off, but they aren't as weird as you might think. The lining does make up
for a lot of the discrepancy of what you are used to in an A-2 or G-1, lets say.

Model (I use that term loosely)
5ft 10in
220 lb
Chesst 46"
Waist 38"
Arm 25"

It might work based on your sizing.
However, the NASA bits look really easy to wear - this one is a little out there, but hmmm.

Gents,
Need to move these samples...

First L-2B by Lion Sportswear. Lion never actually had a contract with the USAF, for L-2B jackets, but this is made as an "Aero Medical Test Sample", as if they were making it for consideration by the Air Force (Which may indeed have been the case).
I am offering a further discount on this one, as since it was made, I seem to have had a visit from a local moth who has chewed a slight hole in one of the cuffs. This does not go all the way through and only goes through the top layer. I will include a piece of cuff with the jacket if someone wishes to have it woven up. Shouldn't be a big deal, but 50 dollars off should entice someone.

Second is the B-15C by Albert Turner, in as new condition. This jacket carries a retail of $699 on the website, but I am letting this one go at a deep discount of $200 off. As to the numbers on this jacket, bear in mind that this has a very heavy interlining and the width is needed to accommodate for that thickness. These jackets do not measure the same as leather jackets.
