Does anyone know of a source to get an appropriate replacement zipper for a vintage uniform? I have a pair of shade 505 cotton shorts in my collection (post WWII) with a bad zipper, as in almost half the teeth are gone. The slider has a vertically oriented RAPID on the "pull". Underneath the actual slider mechanism is marked USA with a P inside a C (doesn't look like a complete circle).
I doubt that particular zipper is still available; but I would definitely accept a "suitable substitute". These are part of a collection that is occasionally worn (not this one) by volunteers at special events at the Air Force Base where I work.
