We all know the USAAF parachute bags - but did RAF have similar bags for their aircrews during WWII?
And if so - has anybody got any pics? What did they look like?
Or even better - where do I get hold of one? (Orginal or repro doesn't matter)
Thanks gents.

Hi Sören,

The RAF did have khaki coloured parachute bags. Originals shows up every now and then on Ebay.

Here's a link for a copy parachute bag:

I believe this is the Canadian version (but not sure...)

Unfortunately "out of stock" but maybe this guy can point you in the good direction.

Good luck and regards,

Jack

I have an original Soren, but no pics handy unfortunately. Its pretty much like these though, but mine has two parallel zips along the top and some covering flaps inside. Pretty sure mine has an AM stamp on it too. I don't use it much but i do like it. I havent seen any for sale since i bought this years ago but im sure they are around. My Dad used to work with a Lawyer back in the '70's who was ex Bomber Command and he used to carry all his legal files around in it. Said it served him well throughout the war so would keep doing it through the courts.

Yes that is a Canadian RCAF version
They were also identical to the bags used by the Switlack Parachute Co.
I own examples of both and one is my fathers actual parachute bag that he had in WW2

I have several original ones Soren. The earliest is dated 1939 and has an early Dot zip. I use it to store my original IAC seat parachute. The RAF parachute bags tend to be smaller than the Canadian ones.
