    some pics of a 1990ies Chinese Jet-pilot combination

    I own the leather pants with the jacket, matching summer and winter gloves/mittens and 2 different versions of flight helmets

    also owned a winter version of the pants but sold them some time back

    interesting setup - the leather had a very sharp stink when I unpacked the unused NOS set but since then the odors are gone

    goggles are also Chinese - look like a 1by1 copy of goggles which I already seen in the USSR also

    the knitting on the sleeves is brown - the ones at the waist ia a dark greyish colour - all are rather more flimsy and not very strong or thight

    Very interesting. Is that the actual GI issue set? I know that today they wear Nomex gear like the USA. The jacket looks a bit like a fashion jacket and rather thin. The knits look pretty bad. Looks like they went cheap on China's best pilots.

    Here is some modern Chinese jet gear. I may not mind getting shot down by them ;)

    Yep that’s officially issued flight garment for 90ies chinese Jet pilots ...

    Got the set (jacket and pants) in a sealed box NOS

    Second everything you pointed out (knitting aso)

    There was also a winter-version with fur collar and thick padded lining

    Will try to find some period pics

    That's cool! Reminds me of the Japanese flight jackets from WWII. Looks to be much nicer than the lightweight version. Cool ink stamp on the inside.

    Chinese here. Honestly I don't think Chinese military has the best aesthetic taste in designing uniforms :D

    Bln = Berlin?

    Been working/living in Beijing for 7 years - moved to Austria from there working as „head of quality“ of the Mercedes G-Wagon and now in Mexico for already 18 months with another 18 months to go ...

    Saludos!

    Yes. Sad news as I'd love to meet up and learn about jackets! But you are so international man! I used to study in Texas but never had a chance to visit Mexico. Had the luck of tasting authentic tacos sold off food trucks run by some Mexican ladies and all I can say is muy rico! Thousands of times better than Tex-Mex. Hope you're enjoying the food there.

    I‘m in Germany frequently - so whenever there might be a chance for gathering we should go for it ...
