Wool shirt, dry clean only?

Hi have an ELC officer's pink "Rangoon" shirt that took a lot of, well, sweating this weekend. I wanted to wash it, but it says "Dry clean only".

Should I really take it to the drycleaner, or can I try the wool program on my washing machine? (40 degrees, 1h)

Thanks!

Wash it on the Delicates or Silk setting of the washing machine: 30º with a gentle spin (under 1,000 rpm) and then air dry. Do not under any circumstances tumble dry.

Yep, I handwash in Woolite dark and cold water - hang to dry. No shrinkage to report.
