WWII Mechanics Sweaters at reasonable prices

For anyone interested;

I just found on Ebay what I think is a pretty reasonable price for a repro mechanics sweater like those sold by Eastman. The add says they are 100% wool and made in the UK. for $59.99 plus shipping. I already have an Eastman that I popped $150.00 US for, so I thought I'd see what this one looks like for about 1/3 the price. Once I receive it ,I'll right up a quick review but they may be gone by then, so if you are in the market for one check these out.
Cheers

Was only thinking about these last night, watching Fury, shame they don't post to the UK.

They won't ship here either, although saying that they're out of my size. They look good though and a sharp price.

Ordered this original sweater while in Florida from What Price Glory, was only $36. Was a bit worried that it would be too small, but it fits perfectly. Didn't find much about it online, anyone here can educate me a bit? Also, how can I get rid of the awful smell - it really stinks. Just a careful wash? Cold water? Airdry flat? Label says "shrink-restistant-treated", but that was almost 70 years ago :)
Love the extra little label that was stapeled to the sweater.

Hi
Your sweater is a NOS original 5 button US Army mechanics sweater probably Korean War vintage. They were issued to just about most combat and support personnel in cold weather environments . They’re still available in large quantities here in the US. Because it’s 100 % wool you can’t throw it in a dryer, so after you wash it stretch it out on a towel to dry. I like to use a substance called “ Febreze “to take the odor out of clothing. Just spray it and set it out in the sun for an afternoon. I’ve always had success with it. Let me know how it works for you.

Like Burt already states “FEBREZE” should do the job ...

Used it also couple of times before and was always effective

Gave the sweater a number of sprays with Febreze, left it in the Florida sun a few days and although the smell did "soften" a bit, it still smelled horribly. Also, after all the Febreze, the sweater got a bit sticky, so figured it was time to give it a wash. Woolite and delicate program, a spin and then dried it flat outside under a fan. Doesn't smell like roses (which it certainly shouldn't), but much better and it feels a lot softer as well and best of all: no shrinkage! If it only wasn't 90F outside..... and looks like Norway will also be warm when I get back...
