Well you can count me as well pleased right now. For several years I have wanted a Schott leather pea coat-my go-to Winter jacket has been a Schott car coat for a while, but the one I really wanted was the pea coat. Unfortunately they regularly go for a lot more money than I was prepared to pay-even if they started off low on Ebay, the price would shoot up to £200+ by auction end, some new ones even being offered at over £300. A couple of weeks ago I spotted one which was at £16. Started watching, and on the last day with an hour to go it was still only £24. I decided to put in a bid at £70 (still less than half the price the last one I watched went for), then I went out. To my astonishment I won it for £53! With postage it cost me just over £60. The seller had issues with MyHermes, and it took nearly a fortnight to get to me, but it arrived yesterday and I am knocked out! By the pictures it appeared to be a slightly dog-eared example (I wouldn’t have minded), but apart from the odd loose thread in the quilted liner (par for the course), it’s immaculate! The leather is less shiny than my car coat, but beautifully supple, no problem undoing the buttons as I’ve had with other similar jackets. Fit is spot on. Yeah, I’m sure an Aero or somesuch would be nicer, but I now have three Schotts and I’m delighted with all of them. Well made, tough as old boots, look great. Unfortunately I will have to wait a while to wear it ((I nearly died taking the photos!), but I guess the current hot weather here may have been a factor in it selling cheap. Bring on the Winter!

Nice one Mikey. Always great when you score a bargain but even better when it turns out spot on. Your sorted for winter, chuck a jumper on underneath that and let nature do her worst. Suits you well.

And that mo just keeps getting better and better ;)

It’s a constant process of adjustment and evolution Smithy. I’m now attempting to reproduce the dihedral of a Corsair’s wings!

That’s a great deal and the jacket fits you perfectly. A lot of people dismiss Scott as a “want to be” player in the leather big leagues but I think that they make some decent stuff now and then .

Great score, a lot of Schott jackets seem to be designed to fit around a beer belly but yours is fine. Schott can make great stuff, I've been dreaming about one of their cafe racers in horsehide for years. Someday.

I’ve got one exactly the same and I thought you was going on to say the’re worth big bucks now! Crikey that was a steal, the boy done good - bought mine in NYC prob early 90’s and I think then I paid $400!! Weighs a tonne albeit not so bad when being worn but wouldn’t want to have to run wearing it - great for those bitter winter days though.

Think when I bought mine they were same price in £'s here as $'s in US when exchange rate was like $1.70=£1.00 so thought I done well back then. Must say jumping in and out of the car mine don't get a lot use these days, virtually impossible unless un- buttoned and with a seatbelt! Still a great coat all the same!!
