really super looking - GREAT HIDE An amazing shearling coat that I think can cross the boundaries from military wear to customers just wanting an unbelievable coat!!!!!

A small point, I don't care for the "pointed" shoulders but my guess is they die down after break-in

This is my jacket, fellows. I just received it yesterday and it is really everything that I wanted. It has a satin finish on the outer surface so it has a little bit of a sheen (but not overly glossy) and the fit is superb.

Regarding the shoulders: yes they do have a bit of a "point" like a suit jacket at the moment but they are starting to relax. I think that once the sheepskin softens up it will not be noticeable. I hate to say it but a little bit more cool weather would be welcome right now. :)

I think that looks superb,as has been mentioned a great design for the average guy that doesn't understand the B3 or Irvins of this world but just wants a decent jacket to wear

Luckily we have been having a cool, wet patch of weather here the last few days and that gave me a chance to put the jacket through its paces. It's really practical and functional. It kept me nice and warm and it's really comfortable. I even loaned it to my wife over lunch yesterday (because she got a chill) and she didn't want to give it back!

I like all the USN shearlings apart from this type. I've had a couple and just think the collar looks oddly small. The arm patches are great but it just doesn't do it for me. Nothing to do with JC just the design in general.

That's interesting, John. The collar is one of the things I like about this jacket. All of my sheepskin jackets have the big collar, which works well but if I'm on the motorcycle (with a helmet) the collar can't really be flipped up for additional warmth. I can with this one.

I think that the extra goatskin trim on the waist and sleeves was a great design; I'm starting to see how nice the M-445 or AN-J-4 must be. I have never had one of those but maybe one day...

Yes its strange that I feel that way. I like the big collars with the throat latch as the full length zip sadly doesn't work for me.
The diamond arm patches look really good.

The smaller collar is what attracted me to this one. The others I feel too self-conscious in. This looks "just right" and would indeed work riding.
