Hello ! I've had this jacket for a few years, a 1955 7823(AER) LW Foster Amend#2, CONTRACT N383-22356A 42 the original patches disappeared a long time ago but we can guess that it had its little story (name tag sewn on several times) the most noticeable patch was on the left sleeve, it's a...

LW Foster 7523(AER) wut ? plastic zip ? Yes Sir !!!

I do NOT want to disrespect the work of some on this forum ;) ! It is very far from being great art, nor representative of a corect sewing work. I just paid a lot of attention to using the existing holes, the leather is very fragile in some places because of the many stitching of old...

    G-1 CAGLECO 9211A contract

I was thinking about those black collar when I was watching "Bridges at Toko Ri".. It's a 1955 movie and all the G1's collar are black although the jackets seems relativly correct for that period. Don't know if they used props repro jacket or mil. issues.

    Questions about my latest G-1

good point ! For the weight it is still a question for me... my 1973 "ultra squeeky" Brill Bross looks like pressed cow (way much thicker than my 1955 and 1963 Fosters and way more "rubbery/gummy") But it's also less heavy than the Fosters !! (less than 1,4kg) As you say, there's no question...

    Questions about my latest G-1

I think (but that's only my supposition) that the "dark" 7823D where all goatskin... the pressed cowhide may have come later with some 7823E "light brown", the cowhide I seen is twice as thick, less supple and almost unruffled with no pebble grain in some area where the leather in tight folded...
