    Help to identify jacket

I agree this seems to be a 1963 contract N2B in nice condition. Label and looks check out and no reason to doubt it's genuine.

    Good Wear RW on Vinted

No, I think you're right, the jacket on Vinted is tagged a 44.

    Good Wear RW on Vinted

Username contains name Raphael so potential buyers might want to do a search on the forum, some users have less than stellar experiences with a Raphael from Belgium.

Vintage MK3 RAF cold weather jacket

Like I mentioned in another thread about the mark 3, my guess concerning sizing is that it is more or less similar to the old combat smocks in that the numbers are staggered in length batches. That is: 1,2 and 3 for shorter people, 4, 5 and 6 for people of average length and 7,8 and 9 for taller...

    USN Deck Shoes

Yeah, it seems they've just got sizes 41-43 left in stock. If they restock the price will probably go back to the regular one and you can expect import fees on top if you're in the EU, but for now it's a good deal.

    USN Deck Shoes

Those US Rubber Company lot 010 shoes are on sale at The Great Divide store. Still a few relatively human sizes available. Might not be ideal for people outside the UK since customs will probably want their cut...

Things to look for when buying an original jacket.

You're absolutely right, they're nice and evocative historical artefacts. I was just responding to the 'need' to preserve these from a broader historical perspective. The fact plenty are preserved in professional museum collections and conditions underlines their significance. It's just that...

Things to look for when buying an original jacket.

Also, historically, unless there's a particular person/ story connected to it with provenance, it's a mass produced item of which there are plenty of examples being preserved in (museal) collections. I wouldn't personally mind if people do (preferably sympathetic) restorations for wearing. It...

    Gizemo N-1 Olive Deck Jacket

Should be easy if you're able to determine A2 maker by pocket flap and collar shapes ;).

    Gizemo N-1 Olive Deck Jacket

I believe the polyester content represents the backing (mesh?) material, in which the alpaca wool is woven. So the fibers you see and feel should be all alpaca. Might be wrong though.

    Random Cool Photo Thread

Right, the Finns flew anything that was bought, donated and Russian captured captured aircraft. The Finnish Airforce Museum has some great examples, like a Dutch D.21, British Blenheim and Hurricane, American Buffalo, German Bf109 and others... Loved my visit there some years ago (even though...

newest acquisition... RAF Mk3 Aircrew Jacket

Really? I thought these size numbers were staggered in length batches like the old combat smocks. That is: 1,2 and 3 for shorter people, 4, 5 and 6 for people of average length and 7,8 and 9 for taller people. Each successive number in a length grouping would be a small, medium large in body...

    Hangars

Practically speaking probably what Mulceber is showing, fairly straight and broad hanger with some extra padding. The best would probably be on a full torso with arms so the weight is optimally distributed, in a controlled stable climate without light, maybe even suspended horizontally and...
