    Anything and Everything A-1

Great jacket. Is that a vintage piece and if not where can I get one? Thanks

Could this be an original A1?

Try this... Spotted on the streets of Milan by the Sartorialist.com.

I would say the A-1 is designed to be a "snug" fit. If it is really tight across the shoulders or you have difficulty doing up the buttons get a larger size but otherwise you should persevere. I was tempted to send mine back because the sleeves were such a tight fit I could barely get my hands...

Eastman ELC A1 (not a2 a-2) Capeskin jacket sz 44

The ultimate A-1, in my humble opinion. Assuming this is the latest model the jacket is made of glove leather and is as light as a feather. If you compare the Eastman with a photograph of an original not just the design but the fit and finish are as close a match as you are ever likely to get...

The lining of my Eastman A-1 is a tightly-woven dark brown cotton with an attractive sheen to it. I also think it would look good with tan or od knits and a similar lining however I don't think that is an option unless Eastman can do it as a special order.

Ha! My LW used to drive my wife mad with its creaking, particularly when we were in the cinema or the car. Sometimes her whinging got so bad I'd wear it just to annoy her. Not recommended! I definitely think your jacket will look even better when it's had a bit more wear. The LW which was...

    Anything and Everything A-1

Hi John, That Buzz A-1 is a great looking jacket but in the photograph of you wearing it the leather looks rather stiff and unyielding. I am assuming this was taken when it was brand new. Is this the "bronco" leather version? I am wondering whether it has softened up much with wear and...

    Anything and Everything A-1

Hi Miles, That might be the case with individuals such as Charles Lingbergh but there are a lot of pictures in this thread showing groups of serving airmen wearing near identical A-1s. Yes, pocket placement varied between branches of the service and probably between contract manufacturers but...

    Anything and Everything A-1

I agree up to a point, however there is remarkable consistency on one thing: no matter where they're placed none of the pockets of the originals are the size of a small bucket. S

The GW is beautiful. The knits look good quality and the pockets are much closer to the original than some I've seen but I am not convinced the A-1 would have had that broken in appearance, at least when new (leaving aside the OD question for now!). For me the Eastman, a stitch perfect copy of...

    Anything and Everything A-1

My now departed Lost World's had the best collar, cuffs and waistband of any A-1 I've seen, including my capeskin Eastman and an Aero I was sent as a sample. They were significantly firmer and, I'm pretty sure, harder wearing than the relatively flimsy knits on the other jackets. I also...

    Anything and Everything A-1

I've no idea what the weight of the leather is but the whole jacket is 2lb 5oz according to my kitchen scales, and seems pretty light compared to the Lost Worlds' A-1 I previously owned. I thought you were getting a Good Wear or is that still in the pipeline?

    Anything and Everything A-1

That's a great looking jacket, very similar to my capeskin Eastman in colour and cut, apart from the lining. The leather looks quite different to the A-1 on the Good Wear website. Was the choice of a heavier skin deliberate or a case of using what you could get? Thanks for sharing the pics. S

I'd love to see the jacket and the label. Did you take any pictures?
