I was thinking Lost Worlds from the look of the hides, but the two-piece construction of the back of the arms isn’t their characteristic. Not their usual liner either.
I used Pecard’s for years, until I discovered Blackrock. Pecard’s works but Blackrock isn’t as ‘goopy’ and it gets eaten up by the jacket / shoe with almost no residue. Beeswax based too.

I think you're third possibility is the most likely one. The few known collectors who used to post here are still active in 'jacketland', they just don't waste their time posting here anymore. There are also collectors (I fall into that group) that don't post their originals.
Creating a such a list would be a good idea, but then the forum must also allow for such disputes to me resolved publicly in order for the true standing of the member to be correctly represented. In other words, what's to stop a whiny, lying buyer/seller with an axe to grind against another...
