Thoughts on this auction of summer flight jacket?

It’s not a flight jacket as such it’s an M41 field jacket, commonly known as a Parsons jacket. Mainly worn by Army guys but USAAF did wear them and plenty of pics as such but not sure I’ve seen them worn by aircrew, more like on base. Hard to see from that pic but does look fresh for an original...

    Reproduction crushers?

Society Hat brand are currently not taking orders apparently until the Autumn - the GW of hats it seems as the wait time grows! Surely this can’t all be on the back of MOTA??

    Saving a vintage ELC A2

Nice job but have to say that looks very unlike an Eastman despite the label, certainly don’t recall seeing one with those shaped pocket flaps! I have an early house ELC plus every brochure they’ve put out and those flaps look more ‘Avirexy’ to me!!

    Original Poughkeepsie A-2

I like all A2’s irrespective of maker, certainly in terms of originals! I was over moon when I got my first original Aero which sadly was too small but at least I owned an original when I didn’t really know enough to tell one maker from the next!! Moving on I was offered a Dubow in my size from...

A2 fit question (yes another one )

It was actually two guys wearing A2’s with white Tee’s in a pub in London back in late 70’s that gave me the bug, not knowing then what their ‘brown leather jackets’ were! The search began but took nearly 10 years until ELC came along - all prior to the internet of course!!

A2 fit question (yes another one )

Your original post begs the question of why you ask! Both jackets look good to my mind but it really comes down to what feels good when wearing them. My first A2 is an ELC house 42” from early 90’s, too droopy shoulders maybe but fit feels good, second is my original Dubow 27798 44” that’s...

    eBay doesn’t have a monopoly on silliness…

I recall seeing an RL A2 some good few years back and at the time was quite impressed by the look and feel, just not the price and last year they had one with a seam across the back! If some of the wealthier general public pay those prices then the ELC and GW’s are ‘reasonable’ and certainly...

    Payment preferences/assurances!

Cheers Guys for your input! Get by my thinking cap on and sift the wardrobe for thinning out!!

    Payment preferences/assurances!

Some advice please! Seriously thinking of off loading a jacket or two, preferably here and reluctantly thereafter if no joy, that ‘Bay’ place. Not sold for some time on either so what is deemed best for payment ie PayPal or direct bank transfer, other? And, whilst I’m UK based I’m not against...

100th Bomb Group Museum Thorpe Abbotts

Went there a good few years ago so this excellent post has reminded me I need to go again as it looks better than I recall! Ironically not so long ago I sent Grant a copy of the booklet from back then to go with his 100th Tribute jacket!! Also living SE London means I could actually do it in a...

    Timsmen - Memphis?

Had a FB pop up showing one or two nice bits - their tanker looks pretty good but, the prices just seem too keen to be true! Anyone here vouch or know/used them? Search for info etc and they do sound legit!!

    Refurbished Luftwaffe "Reichsverteidigungsjacke"

Nice jacket both original and repro before and after - not sure I could cope with that collar though, unless maybe I was flying at high speed in a low temperature plane which isn’t going to happen! Nice to see, thanks Enigma!!

    Random Cool Photo Thread

Didnt the Italian airforce planes have reverse like their tanks? No disrespect to any Italians on this site but having recently read about the North African campaign it rammed home many of rumour and jokes about their activity in WWII! Have to say by contrast to allied aircraft theirs were not...
