    G-1 question

Very interesting website. Great info. Thanks for the referral. Not sure how often the website is updated -- the section on patches, for example, appears not to have been updated since 2008.

Thanks, David. Sorry I didn't identify you by name when I referred to "someone in an earlier post." Luis

    G-1 question

Where can I find a list of specifications for the G-1, with years of manufacture? Someone in an earlier post quoted the following "from our expert," and I'd like to know who "our expert" is and where I can find this kind of information, or at least a list of specifications by year. Thanks...

    G-1 question

Where can one find the specifications for the different models? I looked on Fed Biz Ops but didn't find anything on G-1s for the last 365 days.

    G-1 question

By the way, does anyone know where I can find out when the specifications for G-1s stopped requiring goatskin and real mouton (these probably happened at different times) and called for cow leather and synthetic mouton instead? Is there a list of G-1 specifications out there somewhere with this...

    G-1 question

    G-1 question

Hi all, I recently came across a Star Sportswear G-1 flight jacket with a zipper that I have never seen before. It appears to be original to the jacket, but I may be wrong. I was wondering if anyone here could identify this zipper, or zipper pull, and suggest whether it is military...

    Portuguese officer's leather jacket

No, no lower pockets or wind flap. I guess that in that respect it's not very utilitarian -- but then again neither is the original A-2 or G-1. It does have straps and buckles on the sides to cinch up the waist, though...

    Portuguese officer's leather jacket

Hi, I thought I'd share this Portuguese military leather jacket. This model has been authorized wear by army officers since at least the 1970s and probably earlier. It's a simple, distinctive design that is not obviously derivative, in my opinion. The interesting thing is that it isn't a...
