a) bronze it like a baby shoe
b) cover or overlay the entire jacket in HH like that one guy did over on FL
c) resell it to some poor guy who only wants to ever look at it . . . forever
or
d) be happy that, despite the terminal...
Willis & Geiger made a decent version in wool. They called it a "C-2 Glider Pilot Sweater." They also did the Mechanics sweater (just add your own Talon zip).
Also Ralph Lauren makes a nice copy but in a linen/cotton blend :shock:

I get that it may be bogus or not . . but doesn't Goodwear make a United? Is anyone saying the jacket isn't vintage?
I mean either way -- a pristine original or a pristine copy . . and without provenance isn't it a great deal for a pristine original and a pretty good deal for a Good wear repro...

Seems like a member here shipped a jacket to someone but then got a TOWEL back as a return . . .so the buyer got the jacket and a refund while the seller lost BOTH . . . and no ability to leave neg fb. I'm really surpised that there's not more fraud in this regard -- seems like a huge loophole...

They look POLISH to me based on the photos in the thread above. The rivets mid foot seem to be the chief ID'er plus you can almost make out the metal toe rand.

I have an OD Danish fatigue jacket with red on white spec tag and "DANMARK" on the shoulders that has this same sort of net/cording/rope grid inside the shoulders and back - I figured it was for warmth like the Scandinavian thermal...
As a general rule
1st Patt: wool cuffs and NO rear brass Neweys for the cod piece
2nd Patt: button cuffs and two rear brass Neweys to hold up the cod piece
Post war or Belgian (ABL) models may have chrome Neweys and typically mix the 1st and 2nd patts by using wool cuffs AND two rear take up...
