I'm aware of these Dany, you can share with other users, in general I find all furry stuff a bit boring, even these used by SS ;) I'm sure that you know this reference https://www.kriegsberichter-archive.com/ you can find there some über rare examples of variegated leaf smocks in use (just few...
I'm not sure if this jacket has a goat hide or horse hide. This G1 in seal brown has very subtle grain and it is thicker. Facture of hide reminds me this one, also in horse hide, just it is very dark. sorry for a bit off topic here.
Hey Ritchy, indeed a bit close, just seal brown as far as I spotted has some almost black tint. I spotted this on one jacket from Korean war era, started restoration but during a warmer months there are a lot of better activities than working on jacket restoration ;)
I was able to see in person 3 G&F in a very good condition. These were comparably very dark. Currently own just one in very good condition and it has a very dark hide
interesting to see your opinions regarding G&F hide color.

At some fabric mills fabrics for LW and KM were...

Good advice Brett, however replacing knits and zipper is not a rocket science in my opinion. Sorry Peter, I haven't spotted that a knitted sleeve cuff has an issue - still it is a great wearable jacket after a minor work. Working on knits is not a problem, working on a liner replacement is a...
Do not wait long Peter, you will enjoy wearing this jacket, reproductions are not close to these ;) Price is great for 42 size, plus no issue with additional TAX.
Peter, go for this AN6552, there is nothing better that a genuine WW2 USN flight jacket regarding G1's! Fingers crossed that it would be still available ;) You would not leather quality on any modern reproductions - even these from so called top replicators are not capable to have a WW2 hides...
