One of the things that has me scratching my head about with all these old coats on ebay and here on the forum is how is the coat is issued without name badges or the holes through the leather where the badge had been. I know at CGAS Brooklyn you didn't get a G1 until you quailed as AC or Pilot...

Would the collar on a coat like this be left in original/current condition?

The repairs to make that coat a wearable jacket would be pricey, unless it's just going to be on display. The use of the words beautiful condition... Jack

I will put together a photo package of one of the G1's tomorrow for your consideration. I payed $118.00 for it and I'm just trying to get my money back. My original issued flight jacket was a size 42 and is a bit too snug so I thought I'd get a 44...still a bit snug. Just bought a 1971 size 46...
