Latest China-Haul "US Coast Guard"

another item which also arrived yesterday "fresh from china" is this USCG jacket which looks like a kind of A1 to me ...

manufactured by BOB DONG - who currently provides more realistic sizes (a 44 is simply a 44) - made from wool with nice green liner ...

gave her a quick try-on to check for sizing but couldn't keep the jacket on any longer coz it is pretty warm

I will post some fitpics by end of the week

the patch on the front is embroidered and sewn on - the white markings are printed

I like the darkblue color (black was also available) and even though I think it is pure phantasy is a nice addition to my USN collection

price is about 120.- bucks - equals approx. 100.- Euro

by internet-research "DE338" was a "Edsall Class destroyer escort" named USS MARTIN H. RAY

Nice. I wouldn’t ever wear it patched and stamped, but it looks well produced.

Agree, I really nice jacket, especially for that price! Is it available only with those stencils or alternate/ none at all?

I liked it as well. I searched for a url but only found a page that Google would not machine translate for me.

Gents,

the jacket is 75% wool and 25% poly

BOB DONG - like Cedric already pointed out - runs a - so to say - homepage on „TAO BAO“ which is a chinese-mainland located sales platform similar to EBAY but with fixed prices only

There is also other shops around which distribute BD stuff and sometimes their stock lasts longer than the one which is listed on the BOB DONG hp

Nice looking jacket! We definitely have a Taobao expert on the forum :)

Btw, are those jackets in the background all yours, Thomas? That's quite an impressive collection!

Gary,

when I got the "prisoners" Bob Dong did not yet produce them - they more or less "copied" them from "Road Runner" in Japan.

Ordered the Navy-Version with blue stripes and the B/W version. Friggin expensive (22.000 yen / 200.- USD / 166 Euro) - was able to get them via a friend which back then worked in Japan and forwarded the pants to me. Otherwise it would have been almost impossible coz the guys talk Japanese only.

Quality is flawless - preshrunk - fit like a glove ...

Should be available via RAKUTEN also???

I own prisoner shorts from BOB DONG - also they ain`t back - fabric is much thicker than the jap-stuff and I ordered 1 size larger than I usually wear (normally 34 / ordered 36) - think I still have one original packed left over ...
