Goose bay Labrador was the largest Airfield in the world during WWII

Aircraft transiting to Europe, Antisub, and cargo flights all staged through Goose Bay

Of course the cold was also legendary

Thanks for posting these wonderful colour images. I saw them on FB earlier today. There are plenty of good colour pictures of A-2s, B-3s, B-7s and D-1 jackets.

Fantastic. Funny, I wouldn’t touch a raw sheepskin B-3, but I love B-7’s. Have to get it dirty though! Some lovely jackets there, being worn with complete disregard for their welfare, as you do when you didn’t shell out a fortune for them.
