Opinion needed on B-6 jackets - makers? trim?

Hi Guys!

I just wanted to ask here (as I think there must be someone owning this type of jacket here) what you consider to be the "better" repro B-6... Aero Leather or Eastman?
I discovered a nice Aero B-6 in Redskin for a good price and I am tempted, but I also do not know how Redskin would look like compared to the "standard" Seal Trim I know from my own B-3;
would you guys prefer Redskin over Seal or should I keep my money and get a Seal trim B-6 instead?

it would be great if anyone who owns a B-6 could give an honest short opinion about the jacket - I have never seen one in real on a person yet, so maybe a picture of the jacket while worn would be helpful too :)

thanks in advance for any answers and cheers from Vienna

An Eastman is going to have a more authentic look across the board but a very good deal on an Aero might be worth as they are nice jackets as well.

I’m not a B-6 fan myself, I don’t get on with the back. However I would go for an Eastman redskin over an Aero. The Aero will by no means be a bad jacket, but I prefer the fleece and the look of the collar on the ELC. Particularly with the B-6, I would go for the redskin because I don’t like the contrast between the russet epaulettes and trim and the rest of the jacket with the seal. I have also seen an ELC redskin B-6 in the flesh, and although it wasn’t to my taste it did look good-plus somebody recently posted pics of a well-worn ELC redskin looking amazing. I do believe the ELC redskin has a Roughwear contract number that didn’t exist-ie. Roughwear never actually made any redskin B-3’s. This may or may not bother you. BTW, you might want to post something about yourself in the bio section-some of the guys here have a thing about that with new arrivals.

Here is a picture of my Eastman B-6. It's a very easy to wear jacket, IMHO more confortable than a B-3 and the pockets are more than welcome. It's obviously not as warm as a an irvin or B-3 as the fleece depth is only of 1/4 inch.

Hi guys! Thanks for the replies...that's what i was looking for :)
So i will go for an ELC then. The Aeroleather would go for a sweet asking price but I have grown into an Eastman fan over the last 4 jackets I bought from them so your opinions in addition to my.own preference decided the matter

Great picture of your B-6 btw. An easily not too warm sheerling jacket is what I want so the B-6 fits the bill. For cold weather nothing beats the Irvin anyways...(except an ANJ-4 maybe)

Mikey, I have introduced myself.alreaey coincidentally, only pictures are missing yet, I have to ask my missus to take some...

Thank you very much Mikey...well as it is going to be ELC the purchase will have to wait till summer and a visit to Flying Legends to pick the jacket up personally :) meanwhile the B-15 will take care of keeping me warm innthe warmer weather of which we have more than enough currently and unfortunately...
